Default FD Anniversary Coming up.what do you do?

Hey guys just in need of some ideas as too what some of you have done in recognition of your FD's Birthday. We have our 60th coming up and I would like some input as too what some of you have done to give me some ideas.

It will be our 60th and I was thinking of doing a couple of things:

    #1-Have an open house.
#2-Have Leather and Breast shields made that we can wear for the year.
#3-Some sort of other PR going out too the community to recognize our Existance?
#4-Pubish in a local City Newsleter this milstone along with Historical facts about our Department.

Let me know what any of you come up with or havee done for your Agencies.

My department hasn't done very much that is interesting, just an open house.

There was a department five or so towns away from us that celebrated its 150th anniversary last year. They had a huge celebration/parade/antique apparatus show. There were thousands of people there, and much fun was had by all.

When my old dept Celebrated it's 50th Anniversary a few years back we had a pretty small little event. We had an open house for the community to come out, check out the rigs and equipment we have a use today. As well to come in and see who the members are. We had coffee, snacks, sandwiches and eventually a cake.

In addition we had the Honouary Members, at least the ones who were still around, come out as well to see how much things have changed since they were on many moons ago. All in all it was a good day for everyone.

All of that looks good to me. Our 80th is next year, and we're working on some similar ideas.
