    It's called "live line" work the lineman actually becomes the "bird on the wire",
    extremly dangerous work. I worked as a lineman in HV distribution for over 20 years. I was slated in the early 90's to work from a helo platform installing wind dampers on distribution lines to break up the harmonics, the helo crashed killing the pilot and Lineman a week prior to our job start. We decided to perform the work with a manbasket and tower crane instead.
