Actually a blue moon is misinterpreted as the second full moon in a calendar month. Since the lunar cycle is 29.5 days long and the calendar month is 30.5 days long this is a rare occurance. Roughly every 2.5 years. Another, and the original, meaning for A Blue Moon is the 3rd full moon in a season that has 4 full moons. I saw it too, albeit through a slight alcohol-induced haze It started out a stunning bright orange as it came up, but yes, it was "pertty" LOL and yes, it was definitely yellow not blue!

I'm with the "always understood that it meant 2 full moons in one month" crowd.

I'll show you a full moon........

That wasn't the moon in your alcoholic haze, it was the sun coming up as you were waking up in the middle of a corn field somplace with birds chirping, dirt in your hair, your shirt on inside out, and trying to find your other shoe!!

Funny thing is though, while I have awoken in places I couldnt remember why/how I got there, I've never once been missing any articles of clothing. Money on occasion (only because I spent it) but never clothes. Always figured that was a good thing.
