Hi I am a Florida certified paramedic / Firefighter II and I'm looking to move to Cali. I was wondering if anyone knew if Cali departments accepted FL certs or what I would need to do to work out there.

Per the California State Fire Marshal, there is no resiprosity. You can find this info at www.fire.ca.gov.
But- The good news, youre a Paramedic and being National Registered would be helpful. Right now, the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) is hiring for Lateral FF/PM.
Please PM me if you want more info.

California does not recognize or have reciprocity from any other state or identity. Your best bet is to apply and it will be up to the Fire Chief to yah or nah the out of state certs. The bigger depts. run their own academy and usually you don't need Cali certs to apply. You'll get all that and more through the academy.
Your National Paramedic will work. California is now National Registry. You will need to get county accrediated for where your going to be employed. I think it is (10) ALS contacts.
