Although this wont mean much of anything to a lot of you, except maybe from a "Gee, thats a good idea" frame of mind:
West Shore communities to co-operate in battling major fires
Times Colonist. Published: Monday, June 04, 2007
Colwood has become the first of three West Shore communities to sign on to a fire department automatic mutual aid agreement.
At the suggestion of Colwood fire Chief Russ Cameron, fire chiefs in Colwood, Langford and View Royal have been working on the details of the agreement for months.
It specifies what equipment and personnel will be drawn immediately from all three departments if calls come in from specific buildings, such as highrises or shopping centres.
All three municipal councils had earlier approved the protocol in principle.
Langford and View Royal are expected to sign on in the near future. -TC staff
As I understand it, these depts already run MA, on request to each other, but this is a new turn on things.
