This would be a great ad for the wheelchair company.
"Our chairs can be pushed by a truck at 50 mph without coming appart!"
Seriously though, thats crazy.

I caught this on the tv news last night, and according to the commentary, it took a bit for the cops to get the truck to stop. He didnt "didnt believe them at first, until he walked around to the front of the truck and saw the wheelchair..."

Remember the kid in the powered chair from Meatballs with Bill Murray? The kid is racing down the highway when the bus catches up with him:
"Hey kid what you got in that thing?"
"Nothing much. Just a 440 with a hemi."

Well... ok so in this case it was a four and a quarter Cat.....If you don't do it RIGHT today, when will you have time to do it over? (Hall of Fame basketball player/coach John Wooden)

I bet them wheel bearings, on that wheel chair were smoking after 4 miles at 50mph. Glad the guy was unhurt. He will probably be picking bugs out of teeth for a while though, and I bet those underwear will never be white again.

Overload
Our 911 system overloaded on this one. The calls were transfered to other centers. Probably only three dispatchers on duty but their could have been four. The route traveled is four lanes wide and has a speed limit between 35 and 50 mph. Heavy truck route for the Coca Cola Foods plant. gladd no one was hurt.

I cannot believe that the wheelchair just happened to turn in the correct direction for travel so that he would be pushed by the truck. It is hard to believe that this incident wasn't a staged act. My first thought was the guy might have tried suicide by truck. Especially since he wasn't facing the truck. I would think that had the man been crossing the street, then the truck would have pushed the chair over sideways, and the event would have been less fortunate for those involved.

Ryan, there is only one phrase that can answer that question:
"this is the United States of America, where anything and EVERYTHING can and will happen." LOL
