could you be more specific about what you mean by "using" NFIRS?
My department submits reports to the state on a monthly basis, but as far as I know, you can not retrieve data from the state via NFIRS.

Rich, does your dept submit it's NFIRS using the state's on-line program or do you use a third party vendor program? We currently use a third party vendor and I have to zip files up and forward them to the vendor and they submit them as a package at the end of the calendar year. It's a pain in my @$* and I'm getting some information together to submit to the dept to make some changes in our records administration program.
While we are on that subject, what does your dept use for records. I've examined both "firehouse" and "firesoft" s far.
thanks, John
We use a in-house application (its a Microsoft Access application) developed by some of our firefighters.
We then print from that program and then enter the data into the state:

I believe we did use a program called "FirePrograms" but it was very large (geared IMHO towards municipal agencies and not volunteers), so we just did an in-house application.
Regarding whether or not you can get data from the state, I do not know.
