Alright I am curious as to what some of the stuff FDNY says means.
    Fire is Doubtful?
    Probably Will Hold?
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Fire is Doubtful?

It is doubtful the fire will be under control using the companies currently assigned.

    Probably Will Hold?

Fire will be held with the companies currently operating.

An example of a fire currently happening as of this posting:
Bronx 3-3-3490 (3rd alarm Box 3490) Burke Avenue and White Plains Road, Division 7 states at the end of his progress report "...fire is doubtful, K."
"If you put the fire out right in the first place, you won't have to jump out the window."
    Andy Fredericks,
    FDNY E.48, SQ.18
    Alexandria, VA F.D.

    Rest in Peace

    Basically:
Doubtful: Unsure if additional companies will be needed.

Probably Will Hold: Probably will not requier additional companies.

That sums it up, pretty simple terms. "K" is an term that is an old hold over from the morse key telegraph days. It means end of message.
