If you get Ifsac FF 1 and 2 certifcation then that will be recongnized by most states. Then there are some that are Proboard states. But as far as individual state certifications from what I have encountered states will not recongnize other states. There are some that I've heard that you can submit your certifications from one state to another and whatever group oversees that will decide if they will shew you in.

I couldn't find any Florida certifications that are IFSAC approved, but Florida FF 1 and 2 are Proboard approved. As far as EMT-B goes, it would be up to the reciprocity standards of the state you move to.

You are right about florida being national but that is not always the case, I move back to florida from Colorado just after I taking EMT-B and passing the national and still had to take florida to get there State Cert even know the test is the national test. I got IFSAC certified through the military. You can take your Florida Cert pay the $15 dollar charge and get the proboard certs. After that IFSAC excepts reciprocity through Proboard. Here is a IFSAC website that you can lookat and see where and what IFSAC certs are excepted throughout the US.

I know it sucks bro. It sucks because my training from the Mississippi Fire Academy will not transfer one state over to Alabama. But my EMT cert will. Kind of funny how they have a National Registry for EMTís which will count in just about any state you go. But go get fire training and only your state will recognize it. Silly I think.

National Registry doesn't mean a free pass to be an EMT in every state like they would lead you to believe. The North Carolina OEMS website sais they accept credentials from other states and National Registry, but in reallity, it doesn't work that way.

Not all states are 'ifsac' states. It might be easiest to call the state fire marshal and ask if your state is.
