    Question Bedding?

    Hi! Happy 4TH!
I would just like to know what everyone prefers to use for bedding? I'm torn: I don't like the confinement of a sleeping bag (but I like the simplicity!) and I always hated making my bed!
Thanks for your input! Be Safe.

I just use a fitted sheet and a comforter. Takes minimal time to make it up neat.

I am a sleeping bag guy! I dont like the confinement much either but I unzip it all the way and its not too bad. I travel alot from station to station being low man on the totem pole so simplicty is good, less bulk to move around!

I keep a fleece liner in my locker. A lot simpler and a whole lot less noisy than a regular nylon sleeping bag.

In my dorm room at the "casa del fuego", I use a sleeping bag, a comforter and three pilows.

I sleep on top of the bag.. yeah, a little weird, but I have been doing this for 26+ years now

    Thanks y'all!
    Anymore suggestions??!! Or ideas??!!

MalahatTwo7- courious: what exactly is a fleece liner? Thanks!

CaptainGonzo- like the "casa del fuego"!-not weird, it kinda serves as a padding and a barrier! Thanks!

ant195- being low man on the totem pole doesn't last forever! Thanks!

    FlyingRon- Great idea! Thanks!

A huge full length pillow, a Fitted sheet, regular sheet, and a light fleece blanket. Heater and AC make this stuff work MOST of the year but I do have a spare comforter just in case. More specifically I find my Major league Baseball sheets more comfortable then my Finding Nemo sheets, however the Nemo sheets fit the mattresses a little better then the Thomas the Tank engine ones. Oh Please! You guys with kids steal their sheets also.

Sleeping bag? Didn't know it got that cold in Florida!

When I was in the house I and other members used the department issue fitted bottom sheet on the innerspring mattress and a flat sheet on top. I used my own pillow and their case. Most of the time you didnít get too much sleep if you were in an active company!

Yeah we had a few that used flannel sheets in the winter. That would be like being in a sweat box to me.

I may use a blanket in the colder months but most of the time it was at the foot of the bed.

It all what you get use too!

    Thumbs up

Flyers throw blanket on the bed, pillow, uniform on except shoes (get tired of getting dressed 3 times after mid-night).

In the AM throw it all in my locker, next sucker can use the bed if they feel like it lol. Some guys make thier beds all nice.....I just roll it up and throw it in the locker lol.

    Interesting question........

I worked with a guy who used Ninja Turtle sheets and had no kids.

We are issued fitted and flat sheets, pillow cases and spreads by the dept. I don't use the spread, I just use one of several quilts my mom made as my covers. Nice and comfy!

We run quite a bit though, so I'm lucky to get about 2-3 hours of rack time/shift. Sometimes I think my bed misses me.

Sleeping bag here, although half the time I sleep on top of it instead of in it.
