Flashing blue lights for explorers, what kind of helmets are best, what color helmet is best, what explorers can't do and why it is unfair, and what siren tone is the mostest cool.

    Kenny it was a joke

Edited to add... Leadership would be a good subject, but I've never listened to a FH podcast so I don't really know what would be good.

Haha... glad I saw that joke. Nice.

As for topics- leadership would be a good start I guess. Maybe explorer challenges (like competitions)? What types of training can be done?

    And that's where I draw a blank...

I think it may be good if they talk about what explorers/cadets/juniors do. From recruitment to PT to training. Maybe talk about how it is a good leadership program like people have said. Incite on how a fire department works and how teamwork is required to do just about anything effectively. That is all I can think of now.

I dont have much time right now, but would be glad to see if I could help with this podcast in one way or another.

343's ideas are a good start.

Having it focused to what "your" department does isn't very helpful to others. Having a broader approach in general to the concept of Explorers, and the basics is a much easier to grasp before you dive into all of these things.

ALSO, why are you the one soliciting ideas for FH.Com? They can do that quite well themselves!

I agree wholeheartedly with Chris here. It needs to be a broader approach to the entire concept of youth learning about the fire service. SOP/SOG's, Policies and Procedures, Training, etc.
