Exclamation F500 from HCT - does it really work ?

    Hello there,
I've heard about F500 liquid from HCT.
Is it really working as well as people say ?
Is there anyone there that have actually used it ?
How much does one gallon cost ?
    How to get it ?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

    Default F-500

I assume the lack of replies speaks for itself.

Austin Texas tried it in one truck, but they said that in one year, it completely destroyed the brass valves in a new Pierce pumper.

I saw what they claimed was damage, and it looked like someone took a sledge hammer and busted to brass into pieces no bigger than a half dollar.

Hard to believe it if I hadn't seen it.

I have heard that it works great on coal mine fires, though. It apparently penetrates the coal seams underground nicely.

Other than that, I have no personal knowledge.

I work at a Power Plant and we have used it for several years. We keep it in 5 gallon buckets and totes. The product allows the water to penatrate deeper into the coal.
My FD used 2000 gallons of their product 1 month ago at a tire shredding business. Fire was out about 3-4 hours after F-500 arrived on site.
The cost per gallon is around $18-$20. per gallon.
HCT has a web site. There web site will probably show local dealers.

I do not know of it being corrosive in metal.
    hope this info helps

At the risk of sounding rude (I'm not intending it to be), if you do a search for F-500 you're likely to come up with several threads where this has been discussed.

F-500 is an excellent penetrating agent - but then, so is wetter water and dish washing detergent. To some extent it depends on your application as to whether or not your expense is worth it.
