Sometimes they do seem to be a little creepy...

Funny this topic came up, while I was watching the 4th of July parade a group of clowns walked by and I turned to my kid and said "God I hate clowns." He looked at me and said "I thought it was only me." I got a chuckle out of that.

I have always thought that a person who would cover their face with paint/makeup, and dress up in odd clothes, well, they must have something to hide. I would be very suspicious of said person, and especially if the person were to try talking in a silly or disguised voice.

Wait just a minute... I think I described one of my ex-girlfriends, too...

I personally cannot stand clowns. used to have a picture of one in my room as a kid, and it freaked me out every night. Then I saw Stephen King's IT and that was the absolute last of me and clowns.

Same here, I get the chills. I wasn't going to look up pictures, but I wasn't sure if everyone would know Pennywise... I've been proven otherwise.
And they play that damn movie on AMC and those movie channels all the time... I always seem to catch it at the worst parts... the worst of it all being when the one guy is in the bathroom and you can hear Pennywise laughing in the pipes and all the blood comes gushing out of the sink. The first time I watched IT, it took me a couple days before I could stand over the sink to brush my teeth (I was only 11 or 12 years.)

    Default Can't Stand Them

I don't know why, but ever since my 7th or 8th birthday party, I can't stand them. I blame it on the clown that was at my party. I was totally against it, but everyone else wanted it. Funny story behind clowns actually. Just recently we did "Crusade for Children". We go door to door collecting money to help disabled kids in the community. Well the last Sunday of it, we go to the television studio to drop off the money and get on T.V. and give our grand total and thank the companies that helped out with it. Well the fire dpets. are allowed to bring kids and people who helped collect to the studio to get on T.V. And sure enough, where there are kids, there is bound to be a couple clowns. Well needless to say, me and my big mouth told the station commander that I hate them. Next thing I know, he is coming back with a HUGE smile. I told him that he better not have done what I think he did. He says that he didn't. About thirty seconds later, I see "Gradey the Clown" coming towards me. I dart out of my chair almost taking out a couple of little kids in the process of it all. I have yet to live down that moment. I don't think that I ever will.

I seem to remember a movie about Clowns from outer space that landed in a big-top shaped spacecraft and went around catching people in cotton candy to eat. "Killer Clowns from Outer Space" I think was the name.. I guess that was about 17 years ago.. (I was in high school, and we just got cable tv with HBO free for the first month.) I didn't like clowns then, and still don't.
