Would anyone be willing to share a copy of specs for a platform?? We will be starting them soon and I was hoping to be able to get a head-start. Anything would be appreciated....

What are you looking for? Rear mount or mid mount? Quint or straight truck? We have our specs for a straight mid-mount tower.

Sorry I haven't replied sooner........ 100' Rear mount quint........ Chassis doesn't really matter, Height isn't really an issue and length probably around 50', give or take a lil....

Recently got the chance to fly a Smeal 100' platform. Had some nice features. Was very smooth operating.
You may want to try giving the local dealer a call.
We were told by our local dealer to check there web site that they list complete specs for units in there demo section.
Good luck!!

A Spartan / Smeal 100' rear-mount is a very, very good choice. My best suggestion is call Tom Smeal, owner and president of Smeal Fire Apparatus. He can be reached at (402) 568-2224, or http://www.smeal.com.
If you have any questions or would like more information, and there is anything I can do to help, please let me know.Isiah 43: When you walk through the fire,

What is your reason for wanting a rear mount. It seems from all of the other forums that there are many more advantages to a mid-mount. I tend to agree that a mid-mount is the way to go.

Why are you only interested in rear-mounts. It seems from all of the other forums that mid-mounts have a lot more advantages. I tend to agree that mid-mounts are the way to go.

When was the last needs assessment of your community done? Not throwing stones, but you might be surprised what a deliberate look at your community, target hazards, average offsets, etc. might show.
Good luck none the less.Stay low and move it in.
