How many departments do the quarterly compressed air testing? Also if you do what company do you use?


We do not test our air yet but are considering it, mainly just to cover our tails....

we test ours every quarter, local company that does it. Definetly worth doing though. When i was in the navy we tested them monthly, better safe then sorry.

3rd party company comes in and tests the air quarterly.

Can't remember the name off the top of my head, but the company we use actually mails us out the sampling supplies in time for us to get the testing done each quarter. We take the sample and send it back and get an updated certificate to place on the machine. With all the compliance issues we have to deal with these days its nice to have the arrangement we have.

and don't do it to address liability. The air in your cylinder is one the most important tools you have to separate you from life and death... well that combined with an ability to manage it.

We test our air quarterly. we use a company by the name of Lawerence Factor located I think in Miami FL.

Like FFTrainer said, they mail us the sample vials and paperwork that we need and once a quarter we catch the sample ourselves...takes about 10 minutes, it's really easy...send the sample off to them and they mail back the results for your records. Simple.

Then once a year we have a certified technician come out and give the compressor a good once-over and service (he's a service tech for the compressor company, not affiliated with the air testing service, although he did recommend them to us). We bought our compressor second hand in excellent condition from a nearby department and the technician says it's in great shape, should serve us for years.

Thanks for the replies, We decided to go with Trace Analytics AirCheck. One of the deciding factors was the small size of the kit. Just a small filter and a small bottle. Plus they have several dedicated users/supporters in our area.

We do ours every quarter. The company sends us a test kit and I take an air sample by flowing air through the test kit for three minutes. We then receive a certificate upon successful completion of the test.

We've been testing our compressor for the past 20yrs.

I own a small company that does air samples and all of the fire stations do it every quarter. NFPA 1989 requires samples be taken every quarter.
