    Default I need help with making a work out.

    I'm 17 and i need to find a work out that will help me when i get to the Fire academy thanks.

    It depends upon the Academy, kind of. Do pushups, situps, running etc. Also work on an all around body workout. You will use most, if not all, muscle groups in the body on the job/CPAT/Academy..

    Emphasize and concentrate a lot on cardio while weightlifting all muscle groups.

    Go to Crossfit.com That's what I do and I know a lot of departments and recruit schools are going to it.

    that stuff looked more like hardcore bodybuilding, which is not useless, but its not the best thing for helping in the academy...i use crossfit.com its the best thing out there for this job. like the above link, its not for the timid...it will wear you out and make you puke, but it will turn you into a machine if you follow the program

    Workouts are good but you must also look at how you work out. Mixing the lifting with timed sessions will help. I also coach a high school wrestling team in TN where my guys are in and out of the weight room in under 45 min. If they are able to talk during the lifting sessions then they are not lifting enough weight or they are cheating on thier reps. Also you need to change your workout every two weeks the body learns how to cheat and rest after two weeks. Simply moving the order of your lifts will help.
