Well, at least they got in their training, right?
Jakes’ faces redder than fire-engine

A Dorchester restaurateur tried hard to keep his cool yesterday after firefighters in training accidentally put their tools to work on his mother’s Braintree home in a case of mistaken address.
“Luckily, nobody got hurt,” said Clayton Luu, 32, manager of Chau Chow on Morrissey Boulevard. “I’m not that upset because the house has been vacant for a year. We were planning to renovate.”
It seems the Braintree Fire Department had permission to test its rescue tools Monday morning on a home destined for demolition at 30 Coolidge Ave., but went to work instead at 6 Harrison Ave. a block away, smashing windows and punching holes in the roof.
The 2-story house has not been lived in since May 2006, when it was damaged by an electrical fire. It was already partially boarded up and the lawn had not been mowed in some time.
In a statement released yesterday, Braintree Deputy Fire Chief John Donahue said, “This matter is under internal investigation. As soon as we have a complete report it will be released to the press.”
As for 30 Coolidge Ave., all that remains is a tidy pile of rubble. Though stood up by firefighters, it kept its date with a wrecking crew."Too many people spend money they haven't earned, to buy things they don't want, to impress people they don't like." Will Rogers
