    Talking Engineering Mode

This is supposed to be a "Motorola" only menu in the Windows pager programming software. On the 3&4, hackers figured out the password and you can go in and make your 1 ch pagers into 2 ch pagers and do other factory stuff.

On the minitor 5, they hid the menu in the software and you need to know a certain keycode I believe to access it? I can't hack it??

It is not available on the Minitor V.

On the III/IV models, you could change a lot of technical settings that only us radio geeks would care about. It would also let you make a single channel model into a two-channel model.
Even the burger-flippers at McDonald's probably have some McWackers.

I'm a radio geek.. I am looking for any and all mods/hacks for the pagers. I do have the one for the 3 and 4 though, if only the minitor 5 was that easy.

    Thanks.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but how do you access engineering mode on a Minitor IV? I can't seem to find a definitive process or the password on the web.

    Talking That is awesome!!!

I just tried it out and it works great. Two years wondering how to hack it. Great job Jordan. This guy is one great software programmer. Time to start reprogramming all the Min 5's to 2 channel. Big M will not be happy.

Dangit all. I just ordered 20 two channel M5s literally two days before this came out. Could have saved a few hundred bucks with this. Oh well. Thanks for the info!

Also, stay tuned for step by step instructions on how to build a programming cradle from a standard charger...I just need to take some pictures and get them posted.

I finally got around to posting this. Note that this page has a mix of M3, M4, and M5 info on it:
