    Cool Coming over from Australia

Hi my wife and I are going to the US early next year, I am a Firefighter from Melbourne and have been for over 30 years and intend buying a Motor Home and traveling for 6 months or more. We will be based up past Seattle, the idea is to travel up to Canada and Alaska in the summer months.

I don't know if you have a travel section here or not, we would leave our motor home in Seattle in December then fly back to Australia for 3 months then return and travel to the southern parts of the US. Any info on buying a Motor home and travel tips would be appreciated.

    Thanks Ben

Western Canada has a multitude of spectacular destinations you shouldn't miss.

Alberta - Jasper National Park, the Columbia Icefields, Lake Louise, Banff National Park and Calgary (you might want to try to time your trip so you are there for the world-famous Calgary Stampede). Plan on at least 3 days each in Jasper and Banff/Lake Louise in order to see and experience the full glory of the Canadian Rockies.

BC - The Columbia Valley, Kootenay and Okanagan areas of BC, Vancouver Island, anywhere on the west coast really.

Just go, well almost anywheres along the coast of the Maritimes in Canada and you will see beauty at it's finest.

The Annapolis Valley,South Shore,Halifax for Nova Scotia as well along the Cape Breton Highlands is all good.

    Cool Thanks for info

Thanks for the info, still sorting things out, our trip won't be until April 08 but I have only 16 more weeks to go until retirement after 30 plus years in the fire service here in Melbourne. Time flys when you are having fun.

    Thanks Ben

    Hello Melbourne,
I am trying to find a few Firefighter wives to help me with my business. I am in Oklahoma City, OK married to a 20 yr. FF with the OCFD. The company I work for is launching in Australia and I would love a few connections. You can have your wife e-mail me at tbennett82@cox.net and I will send her some infomation.
    Thanks,
and good luck with your travels, sounds like a great opportunity. After 30 years you deserve it!
