I have no ambition in this world but one, and that is to be a fireman. The position may, in the eyes of some, appear to be a lowly one; but we who know the work which the fireman has to do believe that his is a noble calling. Our proudest moment is to save lives. ~Edward F. Croker

Just maybe....you were not allowed on the department because the chief saw your application.

p.s. If you can't take the heat.....stay out of the fire service!!!!!

I graduated high school in 1992. After reading this it seems that educational standards have gone to *****. I would have never finished school or had a chance at college if this was the way I expressed myself. My daughter is 4 years old and speaks three languages, and when she learns to write each of them I will make sure she does better than this. I just don't know what to say.

Just because you were a jr. FF at some fire company in Manure Pile, Oklahoma (or anywhere else) doesn't mean that the department where you moved to has to allow you to do anything.

Some fire departments have minimum standards for new members and some don't. The key here firefighterjr24 is to find a department that doesn't have any minimum standards and then move to that town.
