ALBUQUERQUE (AP) - There are no survivors of a medical plane that went down late Sunday night on a flight from Ruidoso to Albuquerque with five people aboard, according to state police spokesman Lieutenant Rick Anglada.
Department of Public Safety spokesman Peter Olson says the King Air medivac plane was flying 15-month-old Lilly Smith to University of New Mexico Hospital, along with her mother, 41-year-old Tracy Smith.
The identities of the crew have not been released. Anglada says they were the pilot, a medic and a nurse.
A National Guard O-H-58 helicopter spotted the wreckage about 5:15 Monday morning in Devil’s Canyon southwest of Ruidoso.
The twin-engine turbo prop left Ruidoso Regional Airport about 10:40 Sunday night.
The plane is owned by a Las Cruces-area company, Southwest Medivac.
