I am a BC for a major California fire department. We are part of the local bargaining unit. Being in the union has its advantages and disadvanteges.
I have a friend who is a BC in another state on a small department. There are only 3 BC's on the department. They were just voted out of the union. What advice can I give him as to where he can get representation if necessary? What does everyone else do???

"The education of a firefighter and the continued education of a firefighter is what makes "real" firefighters. Continuous skill development is the core of progressive firefighting. We learn by doing and doing it again and again, both on the training ground and the fireground."
