    Somewhere between genius and insanity!

I work at the Massachusetts Fire Academy with Deputy Chief John McLaughlin, who is an instructor in the Recruit Program.

"Johnny Mac" is one of the two Clinton firefighters who went in with Marty and went back in to rescue him, nearly losing his life in the process.

He is a no nonsense, "balls to the wall" firefighter and one hell of an instructor. I enjoy working burn days with him.

I was at Marty's funeral along with 15 other jakes from my FD. It was a bitterly cold day with snow flurries. When Marty's coffin came out of the church, the sun came out. A firefighter standing next to me in line said " I think Marty got the "big guy" to warm it up for us..."

    Rest in peace. Marty.
