Please tell me to go away if this is an inappropriate post. I am working on a script during which firefighters have to contend with a city-wide blackout while fighting a fire. If anyone is interested in sharing interesting details about what has gone on or could go on in terms of challenges specifically related to firefighting during a blackout, I would greatly appreciate it. Obviously, I post this with the greatest respect for firefighters and if this is not an appropriate forum, please accept my apologies. I stumbled upon this site during my research.
Thank you so much.
I can be reached at ernestproductions(at)mac.com or via this forum.
Again, thanks.

I don't think it's an inappropriate question. Sounds like an interesting story.
Ask anyone with New Orleans Fire Department....they fought hundreds of fires for weeks after Hurricane Katrina, obviously with no electricity (but also with 3 feet of water in the streets....don't know how that fits in with your story.....

"I have a dream. It's not a big dream, it's just a little dream. My dream — and I hope you don't find this too crazy — is that I would like the people of this community to feel that if, God forbid, there were a fire, calling the fire department would actually be a wise thing to do. You can't have people, if their houses are burning down, saying, 'Whatever you do, don't call the fire department!' That would be bad."
