    Default Anyone on Topamax for Migraines or Seizures ?

    anyone on Topamax for migraines or seizures ? I have heard i will not be allowed back if im put on medication and i have heard i will be allowed back so right now iam unsure of what is going on with me right now. Any help will be hreatly appreciated!!!

    Allowed back at your job? I would think you have an ADA issue if your Doc says its a disability.

    No. ADA does not mean that anybody anywhere can work any job with any disability.

    If a disability interferes with someone's ability to do a primary task, it can be grounds for not hiring them or even dismissal with no ADA repercussions whatsoever.

    A seizure disorder is a serious condition and can be argued as incompatible with firefighting under NFPA 1582. Specifically, it's a Category A medical condition and strong disqualifier from the job. Under the best of circumstances, a strictly controlled condition with no seizure activity in 5 years, it may be recategorized under Category B for a return to work.

    In short, eaglesrule1024, you need to be more concerned with your health than with trying to get back on a job you've only had for a few months anyway.
