I just took over my dept's fire public education duties, at what age would you recommend to allow a kid to attempt to put out a small fire- i.e.-small grease fire on a stove, garbage can. The previous guy told them to leave the house without attempting to put out the fire to call 911 and only try to extinguish a fire to make an escape easier. I agree with our prev. guy, but I would like to know how some of your depts teach this to kids ages 6-13yrs. This is for kids that may be home by themselves.
