NOTICE OF TESTING FOR FIREFIGHTER/ EMT-B
The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners for the Village of Midlothian will accept applications for the position of full time Firefighter/EMT-B. Applications will be available starting October 10th, 2007. The applications may be obtained at the Village Hall, 14801 S. Pulaski Rd., Midlothian, Illinois, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM and Saturday 9:00 AM until 12:00 AM. Applications must be filled out correctly and completely to be accepted. The application deadline is October 22nd, 2007 at 5:00 PM. A non-refundable processing fee of $25.00 is required at the time the application is picked up.
Minimum requirements at time of application are:
At least 21 years of age and under 35 years of age at time of appointment, unless the individual falls under one of the exceptions hiring age otherwise provided by state statute.
U.S. Citizen at time of filing formal application.
Sound physical and mental condition and meet all established standards.
High School Graduate or the equivalent (GED).
Possess valid drivers license in good standing.
Attained Firefighter II Certification as issued by the Illinois State Fire Marshal.
Meet all other eligibility requirements as provided by the State Statute and the Village of Midlothian Fire & Police Commission Rules and Regulations.
Must have attained Illinois or National Registry EMT-B or Illinois or National Registry EMT-P at time of conditional offer of employment.
Attend mandatory orientation meeting, which is to be held Friday, October 26th, 2007 at 7:30 PM in the Village of Midlothian Council Chambers.
Successfully pass physical testing held on Saturday, October 27th, 2007 at 8:00 AM
Pass mandatory written examination November 17th 2007 at 9:00 AM
Pass Oral Interview.
Upon a conditional offer of employment you must pass drug testing, polygraph examination, background investigation, psychological examination and a physical examination by the Fire and Police Commission Physician or a Physician designated by the Fire Department.

The Village of Midlothian reserves the right to alter salaries and benefits and that employment shall confer any vested right except as may be provided by law.
