I have my CPAT in about two weeks. I've been to training sessions, and done fairly well. Of course fairly well isn't good enough to me. I was wondering with two weeks to go if anyone had any "last minute" tips. My main area for improvement is my legs. I have a weight vest, and have been lifting, but I'm not where I want to be. So anything you guys can offer, I'll gladly listen. Thanks!

CPAT in two weeks

Go hard until four days out (but not so hard as to injure yourself), 4 days out stop doing weights (your body is at it's strongest again 4 days after it's last workout). Harder cardio 4 days out, lighter 3 days out, no workouts at all 2 days out and a nice little 30 minute very light jog to warm up and stretch the day before... then Give it hell. Best of luck!

help on getting through CPAT
Go here for tips on how to get through it.

It's really to late to start to train for it now.
As mentioned above, make sure you rest for a few days before your event.Last edited by Drjmilus; 09-27-2007 at 12:34 AM.

Legs are everyone's problem - I don't know of anyone that can do the stair climb and not have a burn going by the end of it.. But your workout sounds good - the weight vest is a godsend

I did very well on the CPAT, but halfway through I felt myself getting very parched. I hadn't had enough water beforehand. I made it through in plenty of time, but at the end my mouth felt like sandpaper.
Drink lots of water beforehand!!!

Cpat
It's getting late in the game, I would just stick with the stair climber/master. That seems to be where most people fail Good Luck

Keep hydrating (water).
Stretch out beforehand.
Relax.
Good luck. There is no excuse for failing this.

Well, it's over...I passed. Thanks for all the tips, and advice. It kinda caught up with me on the dummy drag, but I was able to push through. I don't know my time, they didn't tell me, but I feel it was pretty good.
Thanks again !

cpat training
Hello,
I took a cpat trial run a few months ago. I went over about a minute. Since then I've trained to the point of wearing a 50 lpd. weighted vest on the stairmaster at level 10 for 5 1/2 minutes. I have the upper body strength with pull ups and push up and some weights.
Any advice?
thanks.
