If I remember correctly, your NJ FF1 means nothing outside of NJ

Yes, as far as I rember NJ FF1 means nothing outside this state. Most other states take IFSAC/PROBOARD.

my FF1 and FF2 transfered to NY state no problem. Also, FF1 and 2 are twice as long as NY State's FF1 and 2.

What was the process you had to go through to go from New Jersey firefighter 1 to and IFSAC New York certificate.

I live in NJ and go to school in Pennsylvania and had no problem joining a fire department by my school, everything transfered over.

The process was present a copy of my certificates to the chief and say here you go. In the district I am in though, I am still not interior certified because they require FF1, FF2, FAST, and Survival. I just need FAST and Survival, the FF1 and FF2 were not a problem. That is just the district requirement, not state.

The basic interior fireighting course in PA i do believe is 88 hours long. I know in NJ is far over that so that should be fine, but you will not have a FF1 or FF2 unless you challange the test for IFSAC/PROBOARD.
