I've done some minor research in regards to the Fire service in the Air Force, but have yet to see anything involving Officers and Fire. My question is, is there the opportunity for an Officer to be one of the Firefighters? and if not am I only left with the options of Officer and something else, or Enlisted and Firefighter?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated, I do have my college degree so becoming an Officer is an option. One more thing, if the Air Force does not have Officers in the Fire Service, do any of the other branches of the military?
Once again, thanks in advance.

The USAF Fire Protection career field is limited to enlisted military and civilian personnel only. There are no commissioned officers.

The only branch having officers in the fire service is the Marine Corps, they normally have a Warrant Officer as the Officer in Charge of the Department. You must come from the enlisted ranks and have several years of service before becoming eligible for promotion to Warrant Officer. Warrant Officers are commissioned upon reaching the second rank of the structure.

The USMC warrant officers are also dual hatted-they cover both expeditionary airfield (arresting gear, lights, and matting) and ARFF.

The Army only has enlisted that dose firefighting. I only herd of officers and warants only being put as a fire marshal. But they do not have any comand over any fire opperations or control over any incident. Army AR420-90
