Default It's Rocky the Frying Squirrel!

Flaming squirrel ignites car in Bayonne
by N. Clark Judd Thursday October 18, 2007, 7:29 PM

A kamikaze squirrel fell from the sky and detonated a Bayonne woman's car yesterday, police said today.

Lindsey Millar, 23, and her brother, Tony, 22, were both home Wednesday at about 12:45 p.m. when Lindsey's car suddenly started burning outside their 42nd Street home.

Tony Millar said firefighters told them it was the work of a buck-toothed saboteur that had been gnawing on overhead power lines connected to a transformer directly above the 2006 Toyota Camry.

"The squirrel chewed through the wire, was set on fire, fell down directly to where the car was," Tony Millar said. "The squirrel, on fire, slid into the engine compartment and blew up the car.
"They're always coming around here, chewing through the garbage," he added.

Tony Millar says his sister was fully insured.

"It's something to laugh about once she has a new car," he said. "It's not funny yet."
Police said there were no injuries -- except for the squirrel, that is, which is dead

Just gotta make sure to keep the rabbits from somehow sliding down into the engine compartment like that poor squirrel.

(really do have to wonder how that happened)

Why does this sound like one that will end up on either "Snopes.com" or "Mythbusters", or both?

My grandpa used to hunt squirrels when he was alive. And there was this one, who every morning, would run up and down the power lines behind our house. I told grandpa that squirrel was gonna get electrocuted one of these days. He said that was fine with him. All he'd have to do then would be to peel it cause it's already cooked

    Default Too Weird!!!!!

There is a squirrel sitting on top of my car and it won't go away!!! I smacked it off with the broom, it got back up! I smacked it again, same thing. Maybe squirrels are actually little fuzzy-tailed demons in disguise?

Good question. Something about this story is "squirrely", and I mean besides Rocky.

Nope.Critters like chicken, lizards, snakes and squirrel taste like whatever you add for taste.Add salt,it tastes like salt.Put in some lemon pepper and it tastes like lemon pepper squirrel.
The Kroger's here in Memphis have in their meat department 1 pound of buffalo meat for sale.My nieces love the stuff when I cook it with Hamburger helper(tm)but occasionally I'll get a cashier that's creeped out that I'm going to cook a buffalo. It's not like I went to a local park and shot one of the buffalo herd out there.
One river job I had years ago was always having power outages because the black birds that would congregate around the corn milling facililty next door would short out the electrical transformer up on "the hill".
During times like that,if you visited the dispatcher would offer you fried "free range chicken".
Go with your redneck on this: Don't accept his offer of lunch. It ain't chicken.

One time I was walking one of my niecelings to school and she saw a squirrel that she swore was holding a stick. She warned me,"Uncle Doug,it knows you've been killing its relatives in Kentucky and has been looking for you.Be careful walking back home."
