Hi, I live in San Francisco and would like to get into a department in SF or Oakland. While both I assume are reletively hard to get in, I want to know what I need. I'll be going off to college soon and may think about getting a degree in fire science. I am very uninformed on firefighting but it seems like a job I'd like. How much is based on physical statire and mental? Do I have to take a ton of tests and whatnot. Would it be feasible to work part time also as a personal trainer/nutritionalist? If I worked in SF or Oak, I'd need to make at least 100K including OT, how many years would that be possible, 5 or 6?
