Default Rescue truck pic with canada flag

Hey, I thought I'd share a pic of our new rescue truck.
We are a small town of about 5000 people and another 5500 in the county so a great truck like this is quite an exciting thing for us.
The grill on this truck is the first thing that everyone comments about.

Here's another pic - looks like it's going to fly away.
We could not decide which side to have an awning on so we put them on both sides.
The equipment on the driver's side of the truck is for structure fires so our cascade/fill station is on that side of the truck (nice to be protected from the elements when filling bottles)
The equipment on the passenger side is for MVIs. We also have our hot and cold water dispenser on the PS so it will be our rehab side (nice to be covered then as well)

Marty - trust me when I say that it took ALOT of hard work and ALOT of paperwork to back up our reasoning to get this truck and the other 3 units that we will be getting in the next year.(Rosenbaur pumper-tanker this December, Pierce 100' platform Aerial next fall and Pierce PUC next fall) Our little region is growing and we need to try to keep up!!!

    Thumbs up And...........

From South of the border, Congratulations!! Nice Rig. Pierce is building one for us at this time, we expect it in March of '08. Most places down here get their unit number on the grille, but I'll be asking about our Flag...........

The flag looks good, very good. The best we can do is fly small flags from the cab roof...

Truck looks very good as well, usability and comfort. But your trucks are so BIG! I don't think we'd get them around the streets here - we tend to the European style. A lot smaller.

VOLFIRIE - This is a big (pardon the pun) change for as as far as a rescue goes. The truck that this is replacing is a "cube-van" type (ford F350 chassis) that we have just outgrown with all of the new responsibilities that have been put upon in the last few years. (Examples:we now have Ice rescue teams that we did not have before, we did not do ANY medical and now with our local EMS being busier than ever, we are doing more EMS assists and therefore need some extra equipment there) Our old rescue seated 3 ff's (2 comfortably) and now we can haul 6.
Now our only challenge with this new truck is to get out FFs trained in driving/handling this larger vehicle properly and safely.
