this was done as a precaution...cygnus site was BREACHED ...you should get a email about this and prompting you to change your password which you should do.
here is a copy of the email...
As one of the nation's leading business-to-business media companies, we are proud of our website forums and their ability to connect industry leaders to discuss and disseminate critical topics and trends that affect their business and market.
As part of this program, we put a premium on our informational and technical security measures.
During our normal security detection, we intercepted non-standard access by an unauthorized third party. Although the problem was quickly identified and resolved, some limited user data such as email addresses, user names, passwords, birth dates and possibly names and phone numbers in limited cases may have been compromised. No credit card information or social security data were accessed.
While we can only speculate as to the purpose of this intrusion, we feel it is our responsibility to inform you about this questionable access so that you may be on guard. As a matter of policy, Cygnus and its media properties will never ask you for confidential information via email. If you are contacted by any source requesting such information, we would advise you to view the request with great caution.
At Cygnus, your security and privacy are our top concerns. We have implemented additional measures going forward to further minimize the risk of any future unauthorized access issues. We are also asking that all forum users immediately change their password. To assist in this process, you will be prompted to change your forum password the next time you enter one. We would also advise that you regularly change your passwords wherever you do business.
As always, we will continue to proactively monitor user activity to detect any questionable usage.

I think mine was 10180 or something. Kinda shocked. Love the fact that I got one for officer.com but they never approved my application in the first place.

Do you know what we need? We need a good conspiracy theory.
1. Trotter touted himself as an IT Security expert
2. Cygnus site is breeched
3. Trotter gets banned for life

Ouch....................
Dammit, my Butt hurts.......... I just fell off the chair laughing.......

On the 10160 thing, I just did the Math, I've been here for 1,958 days. 10160 equals 27 years and 10 months. The internet hasn't been here that long. Can someone ask Al Gore when he started the net??

Great.
I have had the same password since I joined the forums.
Now I got to remember yet another new password.
My workplace forces us to change it every 30 days.
I can't handle that kind of pressure.
I take all of my passwords and save them to a file with a password and then I can't remember THAT password.
Hey; I'll be 55 tomorrow. WT wanted to get me something special.
I said, "oh you don't have to get me anything. However; I enjoy magic tricks."
And POOF! They made Trotsky disappear.
Thanks, WT. You're the greatest (in my best Ralph Kramden voice)!
