More than a year after the crash of Flight 5191 at Blue Grass Airport, Lexington's first responders are still being honored.
The National Transportation Safety Board heaped praise on those who answered the call for help that August morning in 2006, during a ceremony at the city government center today.
Mayor Jim Newberry and Police Chief Anthany Beatty accepted plaques from the NTSB on behalf of the first responders.
This is the first time the NTSB has recognized a community in this way in the aftermath of a crash.
