Thread: Pierceholics Anonymous

This is for Firefighter807 and anyone else out there who has consumed too much of the kool-aid. Remember guys, the first step is admitting to yourselves that you have a problem. Denial will NOT help you.
Twelve Steps of Pierceholics Anonymous
We admitted we were powerless over Pierce apparatus--that our lives had become unmanageable.
Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity and instill in us, a respect of other apparatus manufacturers.
Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of other apparatus salesmen, as we understood them.
Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves and other apparatus manufacturer's good qualities.
Admitted to ourselves, and to another salesman that there are other manufacturers out there that build fire apparatus.
Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings, and help us to place trust in other manufacturers.
Made a list of all apparatus manufacturers we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.
Sought through education and looking at other trucks, to improve our conscious contact with other manufacturers.
Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to other Pierceholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs."Loyalty Above all Else. Except Honor."

Continuous skill development is the core of progressive firefighting. We learn by doing and doing it again and again, both on the training ground and the fireground."

Confession is good for the soul.
I don't want to stir things but, . . . . . . I must say it always makes me shake my head when I meet people in Detroit or O'Hare on thier way to Appleton or Clintonville for that matter. I shake my head in awe of the machine that can instill such vigor in a person. Vigor that blinds them to the facts 1 We buy the same type engines they do, 2 We buy the same type pumps they do, and 3 we use the same metals that they do. Vigor that blinds to the fact that there are other people who build a vehicle just as good and in some cases(perish the thought) better than they can.
12 steps fellow firefighters to the reality that most of us build a quality piece of fire apparatus not just the folks at 2600 American Drive Appleton, WiFyrtrks
