A crash involving a Lexington Fire Department ladder truck and an SUV sent five people to hospital with minor injuries early Friday morning.
The crash happened at about 3:30 a.m. at the intersection of University Drive and Cooper Drive. Officials say the fire truck was returning to the firehouse after a run when the crash occurred. Police say the SUV, driven by Michael H. Sordini, 19, of Fort Worth, Texas ran a red light.
Three people in the SUV were taken to UK Hospital with non life-threatening injuries, and two firefighters were sent to the hospital as a precaution
