I would like to thank the North Star EMS for saving my fathers life a few weeks ago. He was hunting in the Rangeley area and had a heart attack. North Star EMS picked him up at a local "Doc in a box" and ordered a life flight helicopter to transport him to Lewiston CMMC where he had two stents put in. The doctors told me he would have died within 5 minutes. Thanks also to the flight crew that day! He is home in Connecticut recovering and doing well. Thanks again! It's good knowing that even in remote areas there are quality profesionals who can perform the job.

I'm glad to hear that your dad is okay, Keith! I only heard about what happened the day before I left for my T-Day long weekend and nobody had much information at that point.
Please be sure to give him my best wishes for a speedy recovery!"Nemo Plus Voluptatis Quam Nos Habant"

Despite all the complaining you see here, the system does work. Glad your dad is doing well.

Keith While Maine is a largely rural state , we are very lucky to have a pretty good EMS system in place. I came here from the Spfld /Hartford area 15 years ago and I'm amazed how well developed the system is. If you want to send thanks to the lieflight crew you can contact them through
Lori Metayer at the lewiston base .

They are an incredible asset to support us and really make a difference when we need long distance transport to a major trauma center or cardiac center.
Glad to hear your dad received great care while here in Maine.
