ok so my only question is if you sign up for the air force firefighting and you get sent into a military zone like iraq do the hand you a gun and expect you to fight or do you stay at a base? Im a junior in high school and excpect to sign up after graduation. Thans for your time!

If you are deployed to the desert "T-Coded" with an army unit, you may be guarding convoys, you may be conducting extrication after IED attacks, you may be providing FF support for an airfield in the middle of Afghan. It all depends on your tasking. To answer your question, yes to both.

Agreed, yes to both. You will be an airman first, firefighter second. They have gun racks on the apparatus for a reason...haha. However, the Air Force tries hard to deploy units in a way that you are doing your primary job function first, a firefighter.
