Such a tragic event that is for sure.
One day when I grow up I hope to be just like Fyred Up and Deputy Marshal.

Wasn't he a POS? Arrests, assults, suspensions? Maybe I'm thinking of some other pos...
I am a complacent liability to the fire service

I don't know if he was a POS, or not. I do know he had been fined a number of times for late hits, uniform violations in the league, and for spitting in the face of another player on the field.
Either way, it sounds as if someone had targeted him.
An interesting side note is that his dad is the chief of police for a nearby city in Florida.
He was a tremendously gifted athlete.

His teammates have all said that he has been a changed man since the birth of his child. We have all seen that happen. I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
But I'll tell you what. None of us have heard the real story about what went on in the house that night. Something just doesn't add up.
It is a tragedy, as he had a promising career and a young family, there is no doubt.PROUD, HONORED AND HUMBLED RECIPIENT OF THE PURPLE HYDRANT AWARD - 10/2007.

It may be a tragic event, but..you don't get there by having a pleasant attitude. Somewhere he did something to someone that decided to target him. Having a kid changes people for sure..but it doesn't erase your past.
