The Ohio Fire Academy offers "Emergency Vehicle Operations" on campus. Drive Team also offers a class in Ohio. They will come to your department. You can get more info from their web site http://www.driveteam.com/fire.html

Check with your insurance carrier. Our insurance company held an EVOC class that was also accepted by the state (NY). I am not sure about the details on the class because I had already taken it. Hope this can be an option for you.

Might want to check out Mike Wilbur's website. Mike would be an excellent resource to use.

If you're willing to teach it yourself, USFA has a course you can get from their publications site. It's set up for an overheat projector (the kind with the clear sheets), but it's not overly difficult to make it into a powerpoint program. Not a bad program, as VFIS is the one who wrote it, it just needs some updating (which is what I did to teach it in-house).

    Josh,

Check with VFIS. They have put together a very good course (EVDT) Emergency Vehicle Driver's Training. Wayne County made the switch several years ago--I do not know all of the reasons why. Both our City and Insurance Co. (Not VFIS) have accepted this course as an alternative. We require all members to recieve initial training and also require frequent updates. Hope this helps.

Or you just call one of your neighbors who have CEVO instructors and do it for their own people all the time!!!
