    Default live scanner feed

I am looking to setup a live scanner feed and put it on my website. I have a computer with broadband internet and a bearcat scanner, the rest is a mystery to me. Can anyone give me some direction?

I'm working on a similar project here. Have you tried Winamp? http://www.winamp.com
The server software is free. You will can host the stream yourself or use a company that provides the service. This can range from free to $100's per month depending on bandwidth and listeners.

as far as streaming it to your website, make sure you have enough transfer allowed so you do not run over most websites only allow x amount of transfer per month....
    another options is http://www.firefeeds.com/host.html

they host scanners from all over, last time I knew if you host a scanner you get full access to the site for free

I use Windows Media Encoder to host ours. Runs in the background and seems to a better way to go than to use the Shoutcast servers on winamp. They're both free to use. Ours in currently down however, b/c I'm in the process of remodeling my office and haven't set everything back up.

2160 is right though, while I haven't used firefeeds myself, they seem to know what they're doin!

email me if you wanna know more about how I did ours. use the contact form on the website link below.
