This ****ed me off soooo much, that before I even hung up the phone, I had a nasty headache. I couldn't find anyone at Galls to listen.. So, I gotta rant. I just have to! I took advantage of their free shipping deal. That was the only reason to buy from them, it seems they're the only supplier that charges so much for orders over $100.00. Well, my order came to $109.98. I had the free shipping, and seven-ish into sales tax.
That was last week, today, expecting a package, I get a phone call. One of the items I bought, is now on sale. Therefore, I have to pay $13.99 extra, in order for the items to be shipped. What? The item is on sale, so I have to pay MORE? Yes.. I now have to pay for shipping. They can't change me the non-sale price, instead, now that the total is TWO CENTS below $100.00.. I have to pay shipping.. It wasn't on sale when I bought it online last week. They didn't have another item, so instead of backordering, they held the whole shipment. Now, when the other item is in, this pair of gloves is on sale. So, they gave me the "benefit" of subtracting that from my total, so all I have to do is pay $13.99. So... Lemme get this straight.. You took $10.00 off.. so I could pay $3.99 MORE than the original price. HOW IS THAT A BENEFIT?
WTF is up w/ that?

The Galls Headache

Work your way up the food chain until you find an intelligent supervisor. If nobody is smart enough to figure this out, then cancel the whole order and buy from someone else.
Even the burger-flippers at McDonald's probably have some McWackers.

No sympathy for you. You order from Galls. Your order, which costs 100 form Galls, would cost 75 anywhere else.

Yeah exactly what blsboy said Galls has alot of stuff but its way to expensive. I have found numerous other companies you can order from that are cheaper and actually have better selections than Galls. I mean an example is at the top of the screen its the little ad that says www.thefirestore.com they have a great selection of fire equipment way below what galls is charging. galls the "fire authority" my butt.
Oh yeah what exactly did you order?

The Fire Store.. doesn't carry what I need.. and the similar product was less expensive from Galls, than from Darley.

Most of the personal gear that I bought while on a vollie department came from the vendors that would set up during Jackson Purchase Fire Association schools and Jefferson County Fire School over in Louisville.
I've ordered stuff from Galls before and I don't have your specific problem of having to pay more when a lower price is figured. As we'd say in the Navy by the signal bridge flag bag"Third Hoist-Whiskey Tango Foxtrot,Interrogative! (or WTF,Over?for you Army types)
My problem is that for some reason I cannot get back into the online system when I want to buy more, nor have I gotten a response as to why my correct password and screen name will not grant me access into the system.
My response to that is to cruise over to the local uniform shops and see what they have or even local Walgreens type stores to fill out the "ouchie bag"that lives in my work bag.

Right on, rant away Burma Bro! A little advise, the only thing you should use the "Gaull's" catalog for is to shim up that uneven table leg!!

Get with one of the salesmen that your FD deals with on equipment and buy stuff from them. You'll likely get a better price than anywhere on the internet, especially Gall's

If you are not on a first name basis with Galls and also get a headache talking to them, then you are not a whacker.
