I know an NFPA-472 haz-mat tech class is starting in in February at the Fairfield Regional Fire School. It is around 140 hours long. PM me and I'll send you the contact info. I do not know of any EPA 40-hour haz-mat classes in the state.
IMHO, if you want to be a haz-mat tech, go with the 472 level training. The 40-hour class leaves a lot to be desired, especially in the chemistry and the amount of hands on training.-------------------
