    Question Mutt

    I have never heard of the word in referance to a person till I started reading firehouse forums. And here I read it often. What does it mean where did it come from?

    Essentially a MUTT is someone who is working against the fire service, to serve their own needs. City Councils that cut staffing, in cities where they can't muster the people for the call volume they have, yet vote in a 10% pay raise for themselves in the same session, and stuff like that.

    Be careful where you use it. It can have different meanings in some places...
