    I live in cleveland and am responding on my computer! I was told by many people that they would be testing 2008 or early 2009. I believe they have lots of members in the DROP. I know that they give 10 pts for residency and 5 for military. No medic or fire points at all. They dont care how much or little you know. I did my medic ride time with CFD and the guys were great. The residency points are HUGE so if you want to work for cleveland then I suggest moving into the city for the extra points. Hope this helps.

    Default Drop?

    Not to sound naive, but I'm not familiar with DROP. Can someone explain?

    The DROP is the deferred retirement options program. It was explained to me as this;

    Once you enter the drop program, you are considred "retired". The contribution that would normally go to your pension fund is placed into an account similar to a 401k that gains interest. You must then retire after a certain amount of years in drop. Once you retire, you get your pension plus a lump sum.

    Default Cleveland Fire

    Check out: www.iafflocal93.org look under "about CFD" on the homepage.

    Don't belive the "Tension on the job" post from earlier. CFD is an INCREDIBLE place to be a fireman.

    Both, brotherhood and tradition are still strong!
