Now that the hiring list/bands are established, does anyone know when interviews will start taking place?

I know Louisville is going through budget cuts, but have also read public safety is exempt from the hiring freeze. Can someone from Louisville clarify please?

I know lexington is frozen, I was suppose to start the academy on monday, march 10, but got word early this week to stand by

I e mailed HR and they said that due to budget cuts everything is on hold and theyll let us know later down the road of anything further

i have a friend going through the process with LFD and also have a family friend who is a Capt on the east end. From what I hear they are still hiring from this list, but it will be next fiscal year. The fiscal year ends in the late summer months. So look for early fall for things to get rolling. May I ask what band you scored in?

thanks for the info, that helps. There were no people in band A, but there are 31 of us are in band B. The breakdown is as follows:

Each line below first specifies the band, then the number of candidates in that band, and then the number of people above that band, in that order.

Heard that the new fiscal year will bring 30 new ff's in Louisville. Fiscal year begins in July 1, hope to hear something soon.

I was in the batch of canditates who has gone through all of the testing...hoping to be called for interviews soon.

So you guys tested back in summer 07 and they haven't even had interviews yet?

I was hoping to apply this year but they probably will not even take applications if it is this backed up...

I'm in the B band.

My wife talked to someone in Metro HR, and she got some more info.
He told her that the test scores are good through December, so as long as they begin the interview process before then, they will honor the current scores. If not, be ready to test again...

I would assume that the $$ they spent putting together the bands would not be wasted, and they'll hire from this group...hope so anyway!

Yes, mts, I took the written in September 07 (I believe) and the Physical in November or so. Who knows, they make take applications again soon.

Hey guys, I, too have been waiting and watching for updates. I'm also in band B and have not heard anything yet. I'm hoping and praying they hire from this list as well. Good luck guys....I'll post if I hear anything, please do the same...
