We went through the reduction notice and appeal process last month. we were successful in getting the majority of our funding back Check out this thread on the subject.

We had received a notice that our Grant was to be reduced. We had asked for 10 sets of turnout gear and 40 pairs of boots (1 pair for each member). We didn't think this was up for discussion so we accepted the offer, something is better then nothing. They cut us to 5 pairs of T.O. and 10 pairs of boots. We really need the boots and selecting the 10 out of 40 to get them will cause serious problems and issues. I just sent an email to the evaluator asking if we can fix that.

Questions.

How long after the reduction notice before things happen?

We had a grant reduction from 10 pairs of turnout gear to 5. Also cut was the number of pairs of boots from 40 to 10. How successful are people at getting things re-instated? How soon after this letter does everything else happen?
