Wow, surprised to see it looks like the rule wouldn't be for everyone/past the next exam. I think you guys are gonna get some good news tomorrow.

The prior test are for some guys like me from the 2043 special military lists. All it means is we don't need to take any new test because we were supposed to be hired immediately upon exiting the military. I'm glad this passed for you guys who are too old at least you get another crack at this. Don't forget, this could put pressure I'm the city to get the wheels turning on an appeal simply on the basis there's gonna be a s*it ton of people taking any new test and considering DCAS work ethic they're gonna have to do more than there nails, gossip, frequent lunch breaks and have to actually work.

I got called from the recruitment center and I think the test will be in December or January? I still think itís a long time away from hiring from the new test taking in consideration the time itís going to take to grade the test establish the list number then do the physical and medical etc? 1 Ĺ to 2 years at least, FDNY is under head count and paying a lot in overtime. If the 20 firehouses donít go something is going to have to happen.

I believe there's like a 7 month window between when you get your raw score & your official score. I would think they could get those official scores out sooner, if need be. But the 20 houses is going to be a huge factor in all of this. If the houses close they can begin to hire at the rate of attrition, if they stay open, they'd have to hire what, 350ish guys just to lower OT?

Hate to ask this here but you guys are knowledgable: If the filing period opens, on what website will I be able to apply to take the exam and is there a limit to the amount of people they will test? Its going to be huge

i doubt there will be a limit, but the turnout should be pretty big, if you did well on the last one you will have to do a little better to hold a similiar list #...more vets, more residents, more legacy etc

I cant believe raising the age requirement from 29 to 35 is only going to be for test takers of the last exam. It should be for everyone and all fdny exams. I thought thats what Cassano said??? So if the bill passes, a family member of mine who took the 6019 exam and has been working for fdny ems for over 5 yrs, and now fdny is going to tell him, you can take the next open competitive exam to become a ff, butttttt you CANT take the next promotion exam for the same position cause your over 29. Unbelieveable!!!

Seems everyone is saying tomorrows hearingwill cover 6019,promo 6506 which is pointless cause it was exhausted and military lists only.

So I have never tested before, and I will be 29 on December 29th of this year. Will I be able to test this time around if the filing for the exam is this July?

I just checked the FDNY website and it doesn't say anything about filing in July. Just wondering where this info is coming from and if it is reliable.

We have a great group of candidates going to speak on our behalf and I'm sure they will give us and update once they are finished. Wish I could have gone to support them.

I am in the same boat as you but a month earlier. The filing has to start before your 29th bday.

Thanks for the recent email update, and a HUGE thanks to all those who testified and have attended the meeting in support for our cause. Sorry I couldn't make it (couldn't take the day off), but as with most of the guys on here, my heart and spirit were with you. Thanks again fellas!
