    Default Training

    Hey all,

I was thinking lately what we could do to make the explorer program at my department the best it could be with training each week.

What do you guys do for training and in general each week?

I was hoping to get us more involved with the volunteers here and do the same training (or atleast most of it). To help out at more calls instead of the few activations here and there with better training and communication with members of the department.

Currently we do checkups on trucks, inventory, etc. Do some CASUAL training (some weeks very laxed with little or no training) and then finish chores before we leave. With everyones feedback, hoping to push and make a much more scheduled and organized program with rich training.

Your help, feedback, and comments are all appreciated!

What do your expolorer's expect to get out of the program?

Base your training around thier expectations.

My dept's Juniors train with us as well every week. Sometimes they go off and do their own thing with an Officer but for the most part what we do, they do.

Our Jouniors train along side the rest of the dept except for live fire training, and other more dangerous types of training.

    Thanks.

While nothing is perfect, I do like it and we are pretty happy with how it works.

There is also abotu 1 saturday drill a month thrown into that training schedule too, but that is on a month by month basis.

Once we hammer out the schedule for the senior explorers, I will post that as well.
